Erbium-Potassium Experiment

My group at Oxford works on the creation of quantum gases which allows us to experimentally study quantum mechanical phenomena such as superfluidity. A portion of my PhD involves designing and constructing a potassium addition to the main erbium experiment allowing for a dual erbium-potassium experiment. Creating these quantum gases requires tuning experimental parameters such as laser frequencies/intensities and currents in magnetic field coils. I use Bayesian optimization to speed up and improve on this experimental optimization process.
